Old Friends

I insist to write English, even though May's written hers in Chinese. *chuckle* Since she's talking about the past, then I'd like to talk about the future. *smile*

There are times I keep wondering how many old friends I'll have when I've grown up. Are we gonna keep in touch like now we do? Or after I get married, will I gradually lose connection with them? I have no idea.

I'm envious that some of my friends stick together since young. I bet most of you have such friends, or even are one of them. However, I never had a friend who walk with me together more than 5 years. Let me tell you my 'legend'.

I came to Malaysia when I was about 4 years old. I went to kindergarten at 5 and another one at 6. No one followed me. I entered a famous Chinese primary school in my place but I moved to Kuala Lumpur when I was 9. 4 years of primary school time made me close with my schoolmates but when I promoted to middle school, no one followed again.

I had to make new friends in my secondary school and hence I knew a few close ones. Half way through some moved to other place, some changed class (That included me too!) and some even dropped out from school. After 5 years of sweet secondary school time, I got into private college and LITERALLY no schoolmate there. Awesome shit! So I had to make new friends all over again.

After 2 years of college, I was supposed to go back to the States for my tertiary studies. However, there's a huge surprise that I need to hang on for my studies because of my family's financial problem. So I dropped out from college, of course am still expecting to enter again soon, and started working.

I don't think I've got friends who stick to me more than 5 years. You may do the math. Nonetheless, I'm still grateful that my friends from different places still remember me. *smile wide big*

So in the future, who will follow me? Or who will I follow? I wonder...

p/s: Live the best today, only you can think of tomorrow.
